Dominick has always loved eating, and has always been overweight. Then his cousin dies due to obesity and his sister, Antoinette, tries to convince him to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. He signs up for a hardcore weight-loss program, and then meets a woman, Lydia, who he falls in love with. As he struggles with his diet and self-image, he learns, with the help of Lydia, that one must accept and love oneself for who they are on the inside. Once he does that, the healthier lifestyle naturally follows.
