Directed by Jonathan Demme (who went on to win an Oscar for Silence of the Lambs), this drama stars Peter Fonda as a man fighting against the odds to save his family. When Arkansas farmer Tom Hunter (Fonda) comes home from the city, he finds his parents' lives jeopardized by a strip-mining tycoon who is trying to take over his father's farm. When he realizes the local sheriff is unconcerned about the situation, he takes matters into his own hands.
