In a pre-Soviet influenced Afghanistan, the men of the feudal Sunni Kingdom earn status for themselves and their clans through the ancient sport of buskashi, a vicious form of polo. A former champion of the sport, now too old to play, sends his reckless son and peerless horse, Jahil, to Kabul to defend his clan's standing in the community.
