Warlock
WARLOCK is the story of a town by the same name. It is overrun by a gang of bandits and thugs, which leads the honest folk to hire Clay Blaisdell, a famous gunman, to be their marshall and somehow save them from the evil gang.Blaisdell rides into town accompanied by his friend Tom Morgan, a club-footed gambler who is an unusual right-hand man. Suddenly, the townspeople want to hire Johnny Gannon, one of the thugs who has reformed, to accept the post of official sheriff. Later, a woman arrives in town accusing Blaisdell and Morgan of having murdered her fiance; the stage is set for a complex set of moral and personal conflicts.Adapted by Robert Alan Aurthur from a novel by Oakley Hall, WARLOCK is a good example of the "thinking man's westerns" that were popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
